When not under sail, feel free to powerboat. The steering system is connected to the outboard motor and you steer as you would with a conventional powerboat. When the boat is sailing, the rudders are lowered and the steering control rod is disconnected from the engine and connected to the rudders; then you steer as you would a conventional sailboat.
